2024 Mexico 1/20 oz Gold Libertad – .999 Fine Gold
The 2024 Mexican Gold Libertad is one of the world’s most distinctive fractional gold bullion coins, struck by the historic Casa de Moneda de México and issued by Banco de México.
Containing 1/20 troy ounce of .999 fine gold, this compact bullion coin combines investment-grade gold with one of Mexico’s most recognised national designs. The 1/20 oz Gold Libertad was first introduced in 1991 as part of the expanded Libertad gold series.
The reverse features Mexico’s iconic Winged Victory, inspired by the Angel of Independence monument in Mexico City, with the famous Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes rising in the background. The design is accompanied by the coin’s weight, purity and year of issue.
The obverse displays the Mexican National Coat of Arms, depicting the golden eagle perched on a cactus with a serpent in its beak. Unlike many bullion coins, the fractional Gold Libertad carries no fixed face value, adding to its distinctive character as an investment bullion issue.
Struck in Brilliant Uncirculated quality, the 2024 1/20 oz Gold Libertad has an exceptionally low reported mintage of only 1,995 coins, according to Banco de México’s official production figures. This limited production makes the 2024 issue especially attractive to collectors as well as precious-metals investors.
